The 59th Oaks Stakes took place on Friday 26th May 1837 and was won by Miss Letty (7/1), by Priam out of Orville Mare, owned by Hon Thomas Orde-Powlett, trained by Isaac Blades at Spigot Lodge, Middleham and ridden by John Holmes, who won by a length. The winner won £2,375 (Equivalent to £249,400 in 2017) and there were 13 runners.
